Suicide car bombing at police checkpoint kills at least 11 in northwest Pakistan
What happened
A suicide bomber drove an explosives-laden vehicle into a roadside police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on 26 September, killing at least 11 people and wounding about 30, officials said. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed the attack.
Families in Dera Ismail Khan are mourning those killed, and about 30 people are being treated for their injuries.
