Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia kills at least 23, including four children

What happened
A Russian strike with guided aerial bombs destroyed a five-storey residential building in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Saturday, 10 October, killing at least 23 people, including four children, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said when search and rescue work ended on 11 October. At least 16 people were injured, local officials said. More people were killed in attacks elsewhere in Ukraine the same day. The strike came as talks on ending the war were held in Miami, and a day after the United States eased sanctions on Russian diesel.
Rescue workers searched the rubble of the destroyed residential building in Zaporizhzhia until the search ended on 11 October.
