Plane crash in DR Congo kills 17, including senior military officials
What happened
A plane carrying a Congolese military delegation from Kikwit to Kinshasa developed a technical fault and crashed into a residential area of Kenge on 25 September. Seventeen people were killed, among them two of the country’s most senior military justice officials and four civilians, the transport ministry said.
Families in Kinshasa and Kenge are mourning 17 people, and a neighbourhood is recovering from the crash.
