What happened
Nearly 130,000 people have been displaced across seven governorates in Yemen due to escalating insecurity, with many of them having been displaced multiple times, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Monday. According to current reports, nearly 130,000 people have been displaced from their homes. Earlier reporting gave lower figures as the count rose. Figures may change as the situation develops.
Renewed fighting between the Houthis and government forces has driven families from their homes across Yemen, many of them more than once. Thousands have crossed the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to Djibouti, and aid is struggling to reach those who remain.
