What happened
A military airstrike hit the riverside market in Kyauktaw town, in Myanmar’s western Rakhine state, around midday on 28 September. Local aid workers say at least 50 people were killed, and families gathered their dead the following day. The toll has not been independently confirmed and may change.
Families in Kyauktaw are mourning loved ones killed while they were at the market, and the town lives in fear of further attacks.
