What happened
At least eight people have died in Baja California after Tropical Storm Rachel brought floods to the state, Mexican military officials said, among them four children, most of them in Ensenada, which has requested a disaster declaration. Several people are still missing. Hurricane Simon battered Mexico’s Pacific coast from Jalisco to Sinaloa earlier in the week, bringing floods that brought down trees and power lines and blocked roads.
Families in Baja California are mourning eight people, four of them children, as the search for the missing goes on.
