Houthi strikes on Riyadh airport kill 13 and injure more than 300

What happened
An attack on the passenger terminal at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed 12 people and injured 309 on Saturday, 10 October, Saudi authorities said. Four of those killed were Saudis and the others were of several nationalities, including a US citizen; some of the injured are in critical condition. A second strike on the airport on Sunday, 11 October, killed a Pakistani resident and wounded 11, Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said. Yemen’s Houthis have claimed a series of attacks on Saudi airports, and the airport remains closed as airlines cancel flights.
Travellers and airport workers from many countries were caught in the attacks, and families far from Saudi Arabia are now grieving.
